Loquens (Latin for "speaking") was founded with one goal: to provide high quality resources for healthcare consumers to communicate better.
Communication is critical to socialisation and participation in life.
Complex communication difficulties can occur as a result of health issues & language barriers.
Current products often fail to consider the personal and environmental complexities of communication in healthcare.
Health consumers & staff can face significant issues as a result of a failure to overcome communication barriers.

The Healthcare Consumer
Imagine you are in a healthcare facility, and unsure about your own health & situation. You do not know what is happening, why, or your prognosis.
You may have multiple uncomfortable procedures, and lines attached. You may be scared, frustrated, cold, hungry, thirsty, or have a myriad of symptoms.
Now imagine that you cannot talk to staff. You may have had a stroke, and have difficulty thinking of words or speaking clearly. You may be deaf. You may speak a different language. You may have breathing difficulty & require ventilation that inhibits your ability to speak.
